E2K3 - Address List named "Public Folders" created by default doesn't display Contacts stored within Public Folders
Dear all, we're using E2K3 SP2 with one of our clients. ESM shows the following address lists generated by default during installation under the "Recipients-All Address Lists" node: - All User - All Groups - All Contacts - Public Folders When opening the Default Address Lists' Properties and clicking "Preview" in the "General" tab the corresponding result set is being displayed. This works fine with all Default Address Lists except "Public Folders". The "Public Folders" filter rules are as follows: (& (mailnickname=*) (| (objectCategory=publicFolder) )) As this is a default address list I cannot change its filter rules. Strange thing is that we've several Public Contact Folders within our PF hierarchy containg hundreds of contacts with valid email addresses. But when clicking "Preview" within the "Public Folders" General tab the resultant set is empty. My users need an Address List with custom filter rules in order to display all contacts under the Public Folders node. How can I achieve that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Alex

I dont' think that is possible. Because It pulls the PF as one object like Mailbox and displays in GAL. so it cannot show the contents via GAL That is why you use the OL or OWA to view the contents. To work around you will have to either create separate address list just for Contacts based on some AD attriutes such as Custom Attributes or desription. And what's the default address list "Public Folders" for then? I don't get it what to accomplish with it. Contacts based on AD are no option as normal users don't have access to AD in order to create/edit/delete such accounts.

as i said these are the mail enabled Public Folders that is why you can see them in GAL. but you cannot see the contents of these Public folders via GAL Normal users can create their own personal contacts via outlook and can always publish in the GAL via outlook Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
